K-pop Lofi Hunters Introduction
After watching the film for the first time, I looked into the soundtrack of K-pop Demon Hunters and loved each of the songs, including “Free“ by EJAE and Andrew Choi. The song is incredible and I decided to make a background based off the song and color palette of one of the scenes in the film, turning it into an animated loop for platforms like Spotify.

While watching the film on loop, I sketched out a few concept ideas for what I wanted to design. The original idea was to add a city background, but also had a few hills with cherry blossom trees as the main focus, and have the flower petals as pinks, purples, and blues. During the fine drawing phase, it became too busy and cluttered, so I removed the buildings and additional trees, but added the character’s sword and hat in the scene. I’m happy with the final sketch with its simplicity and color combinations.
Assets and Programs
Playing with sound design, I created a minute-long video of both books with some elements and objects used throughout the characters’ story. It was a pleasant experience to expand my skills in areas I’ve yet to explore and utilize in the creative space. This also helps me with color theory, as my first original designs blended in the background and were pixelated, despite being rasterized.
