Fire and Smoke Duet Promo Animations
As part of the Fire and Smoke Street Team, I asked Lindsey Nicole for permission to animate the book covers by Juniper Hartmann. It was my first time exploring animation, and both projects took about two weeks to complete. The experience was exciting—and both the author and artist loved the results.

The top storyboard shows the “Bang and Burn” typography and asset in a sniper-like sequence where it’s implied that one of the main characters are in a shooting range with targets only they can see with “Alibi“ by Sevdaliza, Pabllo Vittar, and Yseult playing in the background. The bottom storyboard shows “Secrets and Syndicates“ with similar assets and themes, using a 4-square keypad before turning to the cover’s original position with “Gangster“ by Kehlani from DC’s Suicide Squad movie.
Assets and Programs
I connected with the original artist, Juniper Hartmann, for the typography asset (far right) and began building the sniper scope lens (far left) and the original cover assets to create and animate them with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects. The process took roughly two months to animate both books, leaving me with a delighted author and artist.
